3 Workout Channels To Tune Into Instead of Going To The Gym

No time to get to the gym? Work out at home instead!

Let’s face it, working out isn’t the first thing on our minds after a long day at work. It’s hard to find the motivation to gather your running shoes, headphones, and spandex and make your way to the gym. But on the other hand, you know not working out will keep you from reaching your goals.

Fitness is important to millennials. Nobody wants to miss a workout or at least your weekly sweat sesh, so what else is there to do? The answer: at-home workouts.

Luckily there isn’t just one type of fitness, and working out doesn’t require a gym membership (which can sometimes cost you an arm and a leg depending on where you live).

Instead of spending anywhere from $10-$80 a month, here are three of my favorite workout channels to tune into instead of going to the gym.

POPSUGAR FITNESS

You’ve probably heard about POPSUGAR FITNESS. Either through pinning the workouts on Pinterest or have seen their videos on YouTube or Instagram, this workout channel is one that will definitely crank up the heat in your living room.

One of the best features on POPSUGAR FITNESS is that they constantly bring on celebrity guests and public figures that have a huge impact in the health and fitness world. Some of the people featured are Hannah Bronfman of HBFit, Kayla Itsines (the go-to workout plans and fitness gal on Instagram), and many other influential power figures that will want to make you get up and move.

Being able to choose which fitness areas you’re wanting to work on, POPSUGAR FITNESS offers unlimited health tips and workouts from the pros.

POPSUGAR FITNESS has great options if you’re up for an at-home challenge, like this 2 Week Strong Abs and Arms Challenge.

 TONE IT UP

Being part of a community seems to be the preferred choice for workouts today. Why? Because it’s all about staying positive and being surrounded by like-minded individuals.

The Tone It Up girls, Karena and Katrina, are the two hottest duos out there providing at-home workouts, nutrition plans, lifestyle tips, and a plan to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

There are workouts for every part of your body and various routines to break up your workout week such as legs, arms, abs, booty, cardio/ HIIT, yoga, kettlebells, and total body toning routines.

If you’re the type of person who needs more guidance (broken up by the day), Tone It Up offers a Daily Workout that tells you what to perform that day and how long it will take.

If that’s not enough and you want the utmost attention and guidance towards your health and fitness goals, you could join the team by receiving workouts and a daily nutrition plan. The community will help you achieve your goals for the long term by providing success stories of everyone that’s in it with you.

You can even see Katrina’s success story with before and after photos! Seeing motivational images from the girl herself before health and fitness will make you want to join the #TIUTeam.

SPOTEBI

Do you like working out at your own pace? Spotebi is the channel to tune into. I’m pretty obsessed with it for many reasons. It’s not a place to find your workouts, it’s so much more. It provides you with at-home workouts broken down into warm-up routines, upper body, lower body, full body, core and a cool-down.

For every workout routine, it’s broken down into every move with how many reps and times you do that move. What’s great about this layout is that the moves are drawn out for you, so you won’t ever miss out from not knowing what that move means.

Along with the workout routines, there are multiple features that make it one of my favorites to tune into:

  • Interval Timer that keeps track of your time for each move and lists that move during that time period. You’re able to pause and start whenever you need to and it beeps to remind you it’s time for the next move!
  • A Spotify playlist is incorporated to each workout. All you have to do is connect it and sign into your account, and you’re ready to bust a groove and sweat.
  • For those who are interested in how many calories you’ve burned for your weight, the workouts include a calorie calculator. It’s very simple with entering your body weight and it calculates the calories burned that session.
  • Inspiration quotes! Throughout the site there are inspirational quotes that allows you to tweet after you’re done!

Another great feature about this site is that it provides an exercise guide. This is amazing! If you’re not sure of the exercise/move, refer to the exercise guide. It will tell you what primary and secondary muscles it’s geared toward and if you’ll need any equipment.

As like other workout channels, Spotebi provides workout plans to accommodate the areas you’re wanting to focus in on, while providing the days to perform each routine.

Oh, and there’s yoga flows too! This is my favorite website to workout, plan your routines and stretch it out throughout the week!

No matter where you work out, you should always dress the part because wearing your new leggings, sports bra and kicks will keep you focused and ready to go!

Working out isn’t always the first thing on our mind, but it’s important to put in at least 10 minutes a day. Trust me, it’ll make a difference and won’t make you feel so bad about having that daily glass or two of wine!
