As the air gets cooler I have more of an urge to curl up with a cozy blanket and good book. Anyone else? There are a lot of great books releasing this fall.

This is good news for anyone trying to meet their Goodreads reading goal before the year ends, me included.

In this list you’ll find highly anticipated books like It Starts With Us, as well as memoirs by actors from your favorite television shows and movie series. Then of course I added some personal development new releases that can help us end the year on a good note. Take a look at this list and let me know in the comments which ones you’ll be reading.

Nonfiction

This section includes memoirs, uplifting personal development books, and even some poetry. You’ll recognize some familiar faces that have previously published books, as well as some new authors.

The Light We Carry: Overcoming In Uncertain Times By: Michelle Obama 

The former first lady is back after her first best selling book, Becoming. In The Light We Carry Mrs. Obama discusses ways to build stronger relationships despite our differences, show up for others, and show up for ourselves.

Friends, Lovers, And The Big Terrible Thing By: Matthew Perry 

Cue the Friends theme song. All of us Friends fans will no doubt be ready for this one. In his memoir Perry discusses everything from his childhood, his struggles with addiction, and of course his time on the show. Friends, Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing is a memoir you don’t want to miss.

Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story By: Bono 

Another famous memoir that I’m sure many U2 fans have been looking forward to is Bono’s book Surrender: 40 Songs One Story. A detail I love about this book is that each chapter in the book is named after a U2 song. In his memoir Bono opens up about his childhood, fame, and activism. This is sure to be a great memoir.

Newsroom Confidential By: Margaret Sullivan

Margaret Sulivan has been a journalist for over four decades. In Newsroom Confidential she reflects on all of the roles she’s had, like the first woman to become public editor in the New York Times.

She also reflects on how the news and the perception the people have about it has changed throughout the years. This would be a great book for anyone interested in the journalism world.
