21 Sweet Ways To Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Galentine’s Day is almost here. While it hasn’t been around as long as its sister holiday, Valentine’s Day, it’s definitely a day worth celebrating. If you’re not sure how to celebrate Galentine’s Day you’ve come to the right place. I’ve got some great ideas for you.

Celebrate Galentine’s Day In 21 Festive Ways

Are you ready to start celebrating Galentine’s Day with your closest girls? I’ve got 21 fun ways you can gather them together and celebrate. Pick and choose which fits your friend group most and personalize it to what you all love!

1. Movie Marathon

Make a list of your favorite rom-coms, nostalgic movies you all love, or new releases you can’t wait to watch. Then, invite the ladies in your life over and watch some movies.

You’ll definitely want to have drinks as well as snacks throughout the marathon. Heat up some popcorn for the ultimate movie experience, or ask your friends to bring their favorite snacks and do a snack swap. The options are endless.

2. Paint & Sip

Whether you go to a class or host your own at home, this is such a fun activity to do with girlfriends. I’ve done one of these before and it was a lot easier to follow along than I thought it would be.

You don’t have to be a natural artist to enjoy this creative activity. Rather, just enjoy being in the moment with your friends.

3. Brunch

When I think of Galentine’s Day brunch is one of the first things that I think of. This classic activity is fun any day, but add a Galentine’s Day theme to it and it’s even better. Get all dressed up and then hit up your favorite restaurant, or host your own.

Some restaurants even host their own Galentine’s Day celebrating event. I went to one last year by myself and everything from the decor to the goodie bags was just perfect.

4. Day Trip

Grab your girls and hit the road for a day of adventure. You could approach this totally planned out or figure it out as you go and see where you end up. Make a fun road trip playlist and then get ready for a memorable day.

5. Spa Day To Celebrate Galentine’s Day

A day full of pampering sounds like a great time to me. If you feel the same way this Galentine’s Day activity is right up your alley. Whether you book appointments at an actual spa, or host your own at home spa day, you are going to have such a great time relaxing with all your girls by your side.

6. Wine Tasting

Wine tastings are a great way to spend time with your friends on Galentine’s Day. Especially if you live somewhere warmer and can go to an actual vineyard.

There is also the option to host your own wine tasting at home too. Whichever route you go, you and your friends will have a blast sampling some great wine and making fun memories.

7. Shopping Spree

If you and your gals love to shop, this would be a great activity to do together. Let’s be honest, shopping is better with friends no matter the occasion.

So, throw a fun twist on the day by shopping for each other. Then you can see how well you know each other’s taste/preferences.

8. Take A Class Together

There are a variety of classes that you can do as a group. It all depends on what is available in your city/town as well as what your friends’ interests are.

From a cooking class to a fitness class or a pottery class to a flower arranging class, there is something for any vibe that you are going for.

9. Book Retreat Day

This one is for all the book lovers out there. Make a full day out of a book club meeting by doing fun activities like a book basket exchange, bedazzling or embroidering book covers, and of course reading.

I see people doing things like this all over social media and I think it sounds like the coziest, best time spent with bookish friends. This is even an option to collaborate with friends that are not nearby. Set up a video chat showing your cozy reading space and then have fun!

10. Throw A Party

Be the hostess with the mostest and plan a full out party to celebrate Galentine’s Day with your besties. Some tips for throwing a great party are to pick a fun theme and also create a playlist that matches the vibes.

Then have somewhere to put a fun photo backdrop/decoration, and don’t forget the food! There are a ton of Galentine’s Day party ideas on Pinterest if you need some ideas.

11. Picnic To Celebrate Galentine’s Day

If you live in a place that stays relatively warm throughout the year, a picnic would be a fun way to celebrate Galentine’s day. All you need to do is pick a location, grab a blanket/sheet, and also make some food and you’ll be set. Oh and don’t forget the wine.

12. Food Decorating

This activity can be such a fun and creative way to spend time with your friends. Your options are endless when it comes to what type of food to decorate. From cakes and cookies to a meal time favorite like pizza. Just make sure you make them heart shaped to fit the theme.

13. Craft Night

Another creative event to host for the ladies in your life would be a craft night. Head to Pinterest to find some crafts that will delight your guests and then go grab any supplies you need.

It’ll be a fun bonding experience no matter your creative level. You all can even take votes or choose how to collaborate bringing the various craft materials. And remember, the craft(s) don’t have to be Valentine related.

14. Give A Galentines Basket To Your Girls

Maybe hosting an event isn’t an option for you this year. No worries, you can still spread celebrating the Galentine’s Day love by making personalized gift baskets for your friends.

Think about what they love to do (read, draw, watch tv, go out on the town, etc.) and pick a gift or two that fits that. Then grab some candy, and any other staple items your heart desires and you’ll have yourself all you need to create a curated basket of goodies.

15. Game Night To Celebrate Galentine’s Day

For a more relaxed as well as simple night with the girls, why not host a game night? Ask everyone to bring their favorite game and invite them over for some fun. This one’s great because you can go all out with decorations and food to fit the Galentine’s theme, or you can keep it simple and just focus on the time spent together.

16. Have A Sleepover

Why did we ever stop having sleepovers? Just because we are adults now doesn’t mean we can’t still do this. In fact, I feel like it could be even more fun because now you have the freedom to do whatever you want. Combine a few of the ideas from this list, or do something completely different, the choice is yours.

17. Make Appreciation Notes For Each Other

If you and your friends are words of affirmations girls, this activity is a must. Get some paper (can be regular or decorative cardstock) and then pass them out to each person.

Then you’ll want everyone to write something they love/appreciate about each girl. You all could write out certain affirmations and encouragements as well. It’s such a simple, but powerful activity that everyone is sure to cherish.

18. Go To A Celebrate Galentine’s Day Themed Event Together

Don’t feel like doing the hosting? The good news is that Galentine’s Day is starting to get popular. This means many businesses and organizations will host Galentine’s Day themed events around town.

Find one that interests you and your friends and get a group together to go. I went to my first Galentine’s event last year and had a blast. It’s a great way to celebrate each other, and meet even more people.

19. Create Vision Boards

It’s still pretty early in the year. If you and your friends haven’t made a vision board yet, this would be a great time to do it. Whether that’s for the year ahead or even further, have fun with creating this inspirational piece together.

Have everyone bring some magazines, a posterboard, and any other supplies they want and gather together. Spend time talking about the dreams you have for the year and memories you want to make.

20. Make Dinner Together To Celebrate Galentine’s Day

Instead of going out to dinner, plan a fun dinner at home and make it together. Make a full course meal and have each person contribute. You’ll have fun creating your dishes, and you can even get fancy and add some decorations, or dress up even.

21. Do A Photoshoot

The last activity is one of my favorites. You see family and couple photoshoots all the time, but I think friend photoshoots could be a fun experience.

Pick a fun location, find a photographer and pick out your outfits then you’ll be set. It may feel awkward at first, but if you just act like you all are just hanging out, I’m sure the photos will turn out fantastic.

And That’s A Celebrating Galentine’s Day Wrap!

Now that you have some ideas for Galentine’s Day, what are you waiting for? Give your girlies a call and start planning. Let me know what you’ll be doin this Galentine’s Day in the comments.
