The best beauty essentials for traveling

Heading somewhere for the holidays? Packing for a flight can be a pain, especially when trying to adhere to all those TSA rules. That is why I am going to give you the run down on some of my must-have travel beauty essentials and how to pack them!

I have found that keeping a well-stocked (1) toiletry bag on hand saves time and hassle when packing for a trip. Target makes a ton of cute, affordable cases and bags that can be easily stowed away in your luggage. You can then purchase bottles to hold your most important beauty items that are made in accordance to the 3-1-1 carry-on rules. This is much easier than having to second guess what you’re allowed to bring on a plane with you, plus it is a convenient storage method for others types of travel as well.

A few things that are always in my travel bag include shower gel, a mini loofah, a shower cap, q-tips, body lotion and a razor. These are my absolute essentials and from there it is easier to add on if I find that it’s necessary.

If you’re looking for miniature versions of your favorite beauty products I highly recommend the website 3floz.com. Most of their items are TSA approved and they carry some great brands! I really love how they have high end products from BlowPro, Oscar Blandi, and Burt’s Bees. They even sell “essential” kits for different needs. How adorable is the (2) 3FLOZ In A Clutch Kit?

As far as makeup is concerned, I like to stick to palettes as much as possible. Not only do they allow for several options but they are easy to pack too. As I’m sure you know I am a huge fan of the Urban Decay palettes and they just came out with a new one that I am dying to try! (3) The Naked 3 Palette appears to have a mixture of matte and shimmer shadows which are perfect for creating tons of different looks.

It’s not necessary to bring your whole makeup collection on a trip so try picking a look or two that will work for various occasions. Sephora offers a wide variety of travel makeup essentials for you to choose from. I am loving the (4) “How To Look The Best At Everything” kit from Benefit Cosmetics. It comes with four items to set your face up for makeup success.

When packing it is helpful to stick to the items you know you will need. If you are unsure of whether or not an item is fit to bring on board a plane it is always best to pack it in the suitcase you’re going to check. I always like to use plastic bags for things large liquid items so they don’t go everywhere in case of a spill.

Luckily there are so many options nowadays to keep up your style while on the road. Hopefully I’ve helped to ease the worry of packing your beauty essentials so you can have a great time wherever you may be going!
