3 Health Lessons We Can Learn from BTS V

BTS is back on the road, and the Arirang World Tour is currently making its way through North America, with upcoming dates in Toronto, Chicago, and Inglewood. Naturally, places are hard to get; however, some fans have been able to get later tickets through resale platforms. There is no denying that for ARMY, this is a long-awaited and exciting comeback. However, for the members, there are also alarming health issues along with the excitement of seeing ARMY again.

In a recent live, V has shared an important health update. On a Weverse Live, V revealed that he has been dealing with hearing loss in one ear for over 2 years. He currently has around 30% hearing in the affected ear and is receiving treatment.

While the situation is personal to him, this is also a timely reminder for fans and everyone else that it is never too early to look after your health. Here are 3 important health lessons we can all take from V, no matter whether you are a BTS fan or not.

#1. Think About Your Hearing Health Now

Hearing loss is not necessarily something that happens later in life. As V is only 30, this revelation is particularly striking.

Young adults can be exposed to potentially damaging noise through their environments and also to accidental damage through injury, electric shock, etc. Hearing changes are not necessarily as dramatic as in this case, but once you start to find conversations hard to follow, it is a sign that this can be handicapping.

Regular checkups can help you stay on top of your hearing health. If you notice changes, local hearing aid centers can provide both hearing evaluations and options to correct hearing loss.

#2. You Don’t Have to Drink to Have Fun

V has long been known among fans for his low alcohol tolerance. He drinks occasionally, but is also frequently seen choosing non-alcoholic beverages instead.

That’s a surprisingly useful lesson for your own social life. Ultimately, alcohol is a substance that can be addictive. Drinking carries both short- and long-term health risks. Yet, for many, it remains deeply embedded in many social situations. So, when everyone around you is drinking, it can sometimes feel like there is no other option.

You don’t have to give up nights out or celebrations to reduce your consumption. Ordering a mocktail or a soda is perfectly normal, and if BTS V makes it look cool, this is definitely a positive message for younger fans.

#3. Focus on a Healthy Relationship to Food

V has always made it clear that he doesn’t enjoy extreme diets and much prefers enjoying healthy food and adding strength training to his routine. Diet culture has changed dramatically in recent years since weight-loss medications have popularized the Ozempic face. Many may still criticize, but ultimately the figures don’t lie. People are turning more and more toward Ozempic or Wegovy injections to lose weight.

So, on the other hand, having BTS members like V actively share healthy life choices, such as working out and eating during their lives, can send a different message to a younger audience and hopefully reduce the Ozempic pandemic.

Ultimately, coming from one of the biggest stars in the world, these simple health lessons feel applicable and ordinary. And they should be: Health should never be something unachievable to non-celebs.
