4 Ways To Practice Self-Care at Work

According to a recent survey, practicing self-care boosted confidence in 64% of people, increased productivity in 67%, and increased happiness in 71%. These are stats we shouldn’t ignore!

It is vital to your mental and physical health to start practicing self-care and setting boundaries for yourself at work.

1

Establish boundaries. Especially with your co-workers and boss. It is okay to say, "That is not in my job description."

Create a "shutdown" routine at the end of the day. 15 minutes before it's time to leave, wrap up what you're working on and write your to-do list for the next day.

2

Use all of your PTO. In 2018, 768 million vacation days in the United States went unused. That is time you earned to take off. It doesn’t benefit you to not take it.

3

Step away from your desk throughout the day. Pace your work day and don't forget to take care of your own physical needs as well.

4

It’s so important to practice self-care and set these boundaries at work for yourself. It’s vital to all components of your health and well being. Please do yourself a favor and start today.

Start small or start big. However you decide, make the changes that are needed to improve your health and mood.
