15+ Fall Solo Date Ideas For a Cozy Season

A change in the seasons is a great time to change up some of your routines. Or maybe try something new. Today I’m sharing over 15 solo date ideas for the fall season. These are great to add to your list of solo dates, or maybe start your list with them. Before we get to the ideas, let’s explore what solo dates are.

What Is A Solo Date ?

A solo date is intentional time that you spend with yourself. It’s just as special as a date you would have with another person. You would instead make this special time a priority for you and only you. You can plan casual solo dates like a movie night, or get dressed up and do something extravagant to treat yourself.

Why Are Solo Dates Important?

You may be wondering, “What is so special about solo dates and why should I even bother?”  Especially if you are used to spending time alone already. The biggest difference from solo dates and regular day-to-day living on your own is intentionality. Solo dates are important because they help you to practice self love, fill your cup, and maybe even do things you wouldn’t think to do on a normal day.

15+ Fall Solo Date Ideas For a Cozy Season

I love planning different date ideas ahead of time and putting them in a bowl to pick from when I’m ready to go on a solo date. The solo date ideas I’m featuring in this post are all great to do in the fall time. If you are ready for all the self love fall vibes, keep reading.

1. Take a Fall Foliage Drive

The fall has some of the prettiest scenery. If you live near the mountains, or somewhere with a lot of trees, you need this on your solo date list. Taking the time to get lost in the beauty of nature is such a serene solo date idea. While you are viewing all the bright colors, spend time thinking about fall and what the change of seasons mean to you personally. If you are driving though be sure to keep your eyes on the road, and maybe pull over to do the deep reflecting.

2. Take a Photography Walk

If you aren’t up for a drive, and feel like being a bit creative, a photography walk is a great alternative. Take in the beauty of nature as you snap some pictures. You can prolong this solo date by getting your pictures printed and making a fall scrapbook of your creations.

3. Visit a Pumpkin Patch

This is a classic fall activity. While you may be used to going to the patch with a group of people, it can be just as fun as a solo trip too. You’ll be able to truly focus on picking the perfect pumpkin. While you are at the patch see if they have other activities too. Some examples could be a corn maze, petting zoo, a market, and more. That’s a great way to get the most of your time.

4. Visit an Apple Orchard

The apple orchard is another fun fall activity that would make a great solo date. Orchards often have some great scenery too, as well as great activities to partake in. If you don’t want your solo date to end you can always take the apples you pick and make some fun recipes when you get back home.

5. Have A Picnic

I love the weather that the fall season brings. It’s starting to get cooler, but not so cold to where being outside stops being enjoyable. To soak in  the last of the great weather days, why not have a picnic? Make some yummy food, bring a blanket/sheet, grab a book and a bottle of wine, and you are all set. Make it as cutesy or as basic as you want to.

6. Attend a Fall Festival

Fall Festivals are so fun because there are lots to see and do all in one place. It’s a great place to meet new people who also love fall activities. For this solo date you may need to plan ahead of time so that you go on a weekend where it is actually happening.

7. DIY Craft Day

Seasonal crafts are a fun way to not only spend some quality time with yourself, but also make some new decor for your home. There are a ton of fall crafts that can be done on your date. I love the idea of doing crafts that involve leaf pressing. You’ll get the best of both worlds here, time spent out in nature and time indoors working on your crafts.

8. Fall-Themed TV/Movie Marathon

For a low-effort solo date a movie marathon, or TV show, is always a great idea. When you think of fall themed shows and movies, cozy and haunted come to my mind first. Depending on what type of vibe you are looking for will determine your movie schedule, or maybe you want to incorporate both. Don’t forget the popcorn as you settle in for your TV/movie marathon date.

If you don’t get to read a lot, this is the perfect date for you. Some great picks would be a rom-com with a fall backdrop or a cozy mystery. Those are only just a few suggestions though. Ultimately you can read whatever you want. I’d love to know what you decide to read. Let me know in the comments.

This date option can be more pricey than other ideas on this list. It’s still a great option though, especially if you want to treat yourself. To keep up with our fall theme you can carry it over to your design choice. Think reds, oranges, yellows, and browns, there are so many colors and designs to choose from. A great way to get ideas is to search on Pinterest

Name a better combo than a coffee shop and a fall day? It sure does make for a great solo date idea. Grab a book, a journal, or anything else you may want to do on your coffee date with yourself. Then all you have to decide is what yummy fall drink to sip during your visit. Are you team pumpkin spice or apple?
