Who’s ready to get cozy with all the fall vibes and a great book to read? Fall is approaching fast and we couldn’t be more excited! There are a variety of activities we can’t wait to do, and of course one of them is exploring all the best books to read this fall.

Today I’m sharing some great fall reads to get you in the mood for a PSL and a walk in the park enjoying the fall scenery. From romance books with cozy vibes to thrillers perfect food the spooky season, there is something for everyone on this list.

The Anti-Heroes by Jen Lancaster follows two women who learn of a mysterious class called Fearless, Inc.. This class is said to help you become brave, after all it helped one woman stop an attempted robbery at a local coffee shop. This book follows the two women and other class participants as they learn to be the anti-heros of their lives. This sounds like a fun book to read.

Intermezzo is the newest book from author Sally Rooney. It’s about two brothers and their relationships that form in the wake of their father’s death. Each brother handles things very differently as you’ll see when you read the book.

The Memory Dress by Jade Beer

The Memory Dress follows two women, and two different timelines. Meredith worked for Princess Diana in 1988 where she found love for the first time. Fast forward to 2018 and Meredith’s husband is missing, and her memory isn’t so great either. Enter her neighbor Jayne who has decided to find the missing husband. The biggest clue she has to go on is a couture gown gifted from Princess Diana herself, to Meredith. Find out what happens by reading this novel when it gets released.

Fantasy Books You’ll Fall Over Yourself To Read This Cozy Season

I’m personally not much of a fantasy reader, but I can admire the writing of a fantasy book. Getting lost in an imaginary world sounds like a great time to me. I’ll be dipping into the fantasy world for the first time in a while with Divine Rivals this fall. What fantasies will you be reading?

If ever there was a fantasy book my romantic writer heart could be interested in, I think this is it. In this book, Iris Winnow is competing for a promotion at work. She starts writing letters to her brother, only these letters somehow get sent to her work rival Roman Kitt. He then decides to anonymously write her back. I can’t wait to find out what happens.

In the book This Will Be Fun by E.B. Asher, former friends and ex-lovers are reunited after years apart to attend the queen of Mythria’s wedding. After their fallout ten years ago, when they defended the realm from darkness, what will happen when they are reunited again? This book features things like enchanted swords, coffee shops, games of magical Truth or Dare, and more. It definitely sounds like a great read for fantasy lovers. 

Sorcery and Small Magics by Maiga Doocy – (10/24)

They must come together in order to save their bond and help three other witches challenge their own destinies.  This sounds like an interesting read for the fall time. 

Unputdownable Books: Mysteries and Thrillers To Read This Fall

If there ever was a time to read mystery or thriller books, the fall would be the perfect season for it. These books are perfect for that spooky time of year. I’m personally excited to read Listen For The Lie. What about you?

I haven’t read any Freida McFadden books yet, but I know she is popular in the thriller genre. So I had to include her upcoming release, The Boyfriend, in this list. In this book you have a serial killer that dates his victims before he kills them, and a woman who thinks she has found the perfect guy. Nothing can go wrong there, right?

Listen For The Lie by Amy Tintera - Books To Read This Fall

Listen For The Lie follows Lucy, who was found alone wandering the streets covered in her best friend’s blood. Her memory of what happened is gone and she has since moved away to start over. When the hit true crime podcast Listen For The Lie covers the murder Lucy must move back home to figure out what happened. I hear this is a great book to listen to on Audible, so you may want to do that with this one.

This sounds like a great suspense novel.

The last thriller/mystery on of the books I’ve been trying to read all year and now I’m hoping to finally get to it this fall. In None of This Is True true crime podcaster Alix Summer finds herself the subject of her own podcast. When Alix finds a new friend in the mysterious Josie Fair, only for Josie to disappear, what will happen? I can’t wait to find out.

Young Adult Fiction Books Perfect To Read This Fall

If you like Young Adult books you’ll find some great books to read this fall in this list. There is a mixture of romance, fantasy, and mystery to fall for this season.

The journey they are going on could cost them their lives, what will happen? Find out when this YA fantasy hits the shelves in October.

It was released recently but I got to read an advanced reader copy of the book and I absolutely loved it. It follows main characters Jo and Isaac through medical school and then as professors. This is more than just a romance, it’s got great friendship elements, deals with grief, and has a STEM academia setting.
