41 Best Bible Verses For Courage And Confidence

Psalm 23:1-4 – “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

The love of God will guide you in your need of endurance and courage.

Psalm 31:24 – “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”

Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?”

The Lord is here to protect us, which means there shouldn’t even be a reason to fear over anyone or anything. We can let go of the spirit of fear.

Psalm 27:3 – “Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”

No matter what hard obstacle you’re going though, your confidence shouldn’t waver. You can handle it and you will. No matter how big the “war” may feel.

Psalm 27:14 – “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

Patience really is a virtue that shouldn’t be pushed to the side. Patience can help you in terms of building courage and confidence. Don’t except things to happen right away, but believe in time they’ll get better.

Psalm 56:3-4 – “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?”

A simple yet powerful reminder when you need that extra bit of courage. You can do whatever you set your mind to. You can overcome this. God has given you the strength to do so.

He holds any child of God with steadfast love, as his own son or daughter.

1 Corinthians 16:13 – “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”

Yes, you do need to be open-eyed and “on guard” during life. But know your faith, know you’re never really alone, and know that you’ve got this.

Romans 8:26 – “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”

When you need more courage or confidence, pray about it. You can also utilize specific invocations to pray to gain strength in moments of uncertainty or crisis. These prayers can provide spiritual, emotional and physical strength, inspiring faith and confidence in the Almighty’s power. Pray about the obstacle you’re going through. Never take for granted the power of prayer.

1 Chronicles 28:20 – “David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished.”

You are also the son of God, or daughter, and he will not fail you.

Even when we feel like we don’t have any help, God is there helping us in ways we may not see. Never forget that.

Isaiah 54:4 – “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated.”

This is especially a reminder if you are worried about other people’s perception of you. There is nothing to be afraid of, there is no need to be scared of being humiliated. Never be afraid to put yourself out there – the only approval you need is from God.

2 Timothy 1:7 – “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.”

Read this verse and think as though Jesus is saying that directly to you. It’s more reassuring that you may think.

Numbers 13:20 – “And whether the land is rich or poor, and whether there are trees in it or not, be of good courage and bring some of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the season of the first ripe grapes.”

Again, the Lord knows what he’s doing, even if you can’t see it right now. Whatever you are going through, it’s all part of God’s plan.

Hebrews 4:16 – “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

When he has the stronghold of my life, I can let go of fear and move confidently through times of stress.

Hebrews 10:35–36 – “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

Unfortunately, you will need to go through obstacles and hard times. But remember that you can and will overcome it, and it is all worth it in the end. Through hard times comes great reward for your challenges.

Hebrews 13:6 – “So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’”

God is here to help us, always. And seriously – what can another human really do to you? They’re only human, too! This verse is a good reminder of “what’s the worst that can really happen?”

Ezekiel 22:14 – “Can your courage endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.”
