Apps save lives (not literally, of course, but you get the gist). But, really – if you’re in college and need something to make studying easier, there’s an app for that. If you’re interested in an app to speed along your workouts, yep, there’s an app for that, too. And if you’re in need of a radio station because listening to “Thrift Shop” is getting old, surprise, surprise! There is an app for that.
Since us twenty-somethings are all about technology, we’ve decided to compile a list of some of our favorite apps for your smartphone, tablet, and/or computer. Here are just a few of the best ones out there:
If you’re a notorious to-list maker like me, EverNote is the app for you. EverNote allows users to create notes of any kind: written, vocal, or photo! If you have a smartphone or tablet, you can sync your notes through each device. How handy is that? I’ve used EverNote to keep me on track with my schoolwork, freelance writing, and to make grocery store lists.
Running is made easier with the RunKeeper app for your iPhone or other smartphone. RunKeeper gives you the freedom to run at your own speed and STILL motivates you step-by-step. Want to set a goal of running one mile in less than 10 minutes? RunKeeper can keep you on track to reach your goal. And once you hit that goal, you can share your triumph all over your social media accounts. RunKeeper tracks your running, walking, or jogging routes (you can choose whichever one you’d like), as well as your speed, time, and calories burned. This app is perfect for the walker or runner on-the-go!
Who says that you need to spend money on a Kindle tablet to actually enjoy its benefits? If you have a Mac-based computer or smartphone, you can save your money and download the Kindle app. Easily purchase books and magazines through Amazon’s website and read away! My favorite part about this app? It shows you your progress when reading something new. For instance, I’m 2 percent into reading Beautiful Creatures. The Kindle app keeps all of your purchases in one convenient place for your viewing. If that’s not making life simple, then I don’t know what is.
