20s

As a twenty-something, you are now on the cusp of adulthood. The transition from young adult to a full-fledged grown-up can appear daunting now and then, but it really is an exciting time in your life! Your twenties are the 10-year span where you are allowed to make mistakes as you discover and establish yourself in this world. As you cruise through your twenties, you are likely to learn a few standard life lessons. Here is a list of 10 things twenty-somethings know all too well:

1. …  you’re caught trying to find the balance of what you want to do right now and planning for what you should do in the future.

2. … you discover that money isn’t everything, but it does cover your rent, utilities, gas, clothes, groceries, and booze, which is basically “everything” anyways.

3. … your list of pending job applications is longer than your actual résumé.

4. … you’re dreading your upcoming ten-year high school reunion, even though you secretly want to see how much better off you are than your ex.

5. …  you start learning about all of the things you DO NOT want to do, rather than the things you DO want to do, for the rest of your life.

6. … you feel your biological clock ticking, urging you to find a life partner to settle down and start a family with.

7. … there are no more birthdays to get excited about after your 21st.

8. … your favorite 90s television shows from Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel are no longer aired anymore and have become obsolete.

9. … high school graduation has become a thing of the past and you can no longer claim bragging rights about your honor roll academic status or former athletic awards.

10. … you realize that college is merely a sequel to high school and you now have to continue on to graduate school before being qualified for many potential careers.
