7 Reasons Marriage Totally Rocks

7 Reasons Marriage Totally Rocks

“I do.” Those two words will forever change the lives of the people who utter them. For better or worse, the lovebirds pledge their undying loyalty and begin building a life as one. While such an endeavor undeniably brings challenges, experience has shown that marriage is awesome approximately 99 percent of the time and 100 percent worth it.

Don’t believe me? Keep reading as we delve into the seven simple reasons marriage totally ROCKS.

1. Built in bud.

You know the feeling when you’re itching to go on an adventure but can’t find a compadre? Enter Significant Other. Being married is akin to having a permanent ally that will explore with you, get into mischief, or just indulge in a lazy night of Netflix binging. No longer the need to track down or attempt to locate a partner-in-crime. (S)he’s sitting right next to you.

2. Twice the nice.

If you have a tendency to get easily overwhelmed, have a not-so-mini meltdown and collapse in a heap, marriage can be a lifesaver. It’s amazing how much an extra set of hands can accomplish whether it’s washing the dishes, making a grocery run, or filling the car with gas. The saying “two is better than one” is oh, so correcto.

3. Therapy on the free.

When those overwhelming moments do arrive and you begin to feel less than successful at life, it’s amazing to see just how much your spouse has chosen to love you for better or worse. Sometimes all you need is a listening ear, a comforting word, and a hug — things your Lover is more than willing to offer. No appointment necessary.

4. Teamwork-it-outer!

Though the decision to turn off the TV, throw away the bag of chips, and get up off the couch is ultimately yours, it sure does help to have a motivator. Chances are, your fitness and health goals will be much more attainable if you have a partner to keep you going, and it can be a great bonding experience to boot! AKA — you’ll be enhancing your marriage, as well as your waistline.

5. Pretty in PJ’s.

It’s a no-makeup, sweats sporting, topknot kind of day, and it’s no big deal! The love of your life has seen you through it all- sick days, sad days, looking really bad days… and still adores you. So if you’re feeling a little shlubbish upon the ‘morrow, rock on.

6. Focus point.

It’s more than easy to be self-centered, self-focused, and self-involved- especially in today’s society. Having a spouse who will certainly need both your attention and affection, is not only an excellent distraction from “all about you” but truly teaches you how to be a more considerate and thoughtful individual. Two for the price of one.

7. Ultimate life-lifter.

Even if you’re sitting, staring at a wall, it’s better with your Honey by your side. Mundane tasks become a treat as you do them together, and your relationship becomes an intricate network of shared experiences. You’ll begin to create your own language as a result of inside jokes, quirky phrases and behaviors. It’ll be the best learning experience you’ve ever had.

Through good or bad, thick or thin, better or worse, marriage defines a person. It not only teaches you about the one you chose to create a life with, but will inevitably show you more about yourself than you ever thought possible. So buckle up, take the plunge and have a ball! It’s a sweet way to live a life.
