It’s time to celebrate. The New Year is almost here! It is time to reflect on the current year and get excited for 2014. You are getting a fresh start! This certainly calls for a celebration. If you are as busy as we think you are, you may not have had time to start planning your New Year’s party yet. We are sharing some tips on how to throw an awesome New Year’s Eve party and kick your year off right.
- Gather your partygoers. Regardless of whether you are pulling it together at the last minute or you have been on top of your planning game all along, your guests are important. You want to make sure that you have a group of people who are going to have a great time, get along and enjoy themselves. Luckily, it seems like most people do not make New Year’s plans until the last minute so you should be able to get many of your besties and closest friends together for the occasion!
- Prepare the snacks. You would not want your partygoers to start the New Year off starving would you? You probably do not need to worry about fixing anything extravagant, unless that is how you envision your party of course; easy finger foods tend to suffice here. There are so many bite-sized foods that you can make quickly and even decorate for a festive feel, cookies and cupcakes, small sandwiches, muffins, macaroni and cheese bites, the possibilities are endless. Don’t forget the bubbly of course! Some recommendations here.
- Don’t forget to decorate. What is a New Year’s party without sparklers, silly hats and those little party horns? Again, you do not have to do anything over the top. In fact there are a lot of DIY projects that are simple that you can try to spruce up your party. You can make your own confetti, decorate cups, make your own chandeliers and even have enough money left over to have small party favors for your guests. - Keep the party going. Entertainment is must. You and your guests are probably in for a long night. Keep it fun by bringing in games and music. You can try board games, or something easy like charades. Dance offs are always fun too. Whatever it is that you like to do, do it. Just have a good time!
The best way to ensure that your party is a success is to be creative. Put your own personal touch and spin on the food, decorations and entertainment. Throw in a bunch of your besties, and you are sure to have some good luck for the New Year. Happy New Year!
