Five Trendy Things to Try This Year

Five trends to try this year

The hype of the New Year is over: the resolutions that we made have faded and that “go get ‘em” attitude has subsided. We’ve settled into our routines and are craving to get that rush of accomplishment again. It’s time to get those emotions back. Here are some fun, fresh things to try that will get you moving on that track again– while enjoying it and getting ahead!

1. Club W

Your very own personal wine connoisseur, sent to your home! Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?! For $13 a bottle (plus a $6 shipping fee), Club W will send wine straight to you – but not just any random wine. They select wine for you based on a taste profile that you build. It’s tailored just for you!

Whether I’m having girls over for a night in or taking a bottle to a party as a hostess gift, I’ve gotten so much credit for it and now I’m revealing my secret. You can sign up right here. Cheers!

2. Etsy

Those of us who are obsessed with Pinterest know that Etsy is one of the coolest shopping marketplaces that has ever existed. From customized necklaces to vintage tops, Etsy has everything you could want. It doesn’t matter what your fashion trend is, you will always find something you just have to have.

Artisans and small companies sell their handmade creations on Etsy to get their products out there for all to see. And for those of us out there who like originality in what they wear, this place has endless innovative and avant-garde pieces for you. But hurry, Etsy and Nordstrom recently partnered up to sell in stores, so get your online Etsy goods now!

3. Truffle oil

Oh sweet, savory heavens… this is the year my taste buds will rejoice in the name of truffles. Truffles are a type of mushroom that are treasured the world over. They are recently becoming more available due to a rise in popularity and more affordable prices.

The addictive, earthy, mouthwatering truffle oil is now being used on burgers, fries, in risotto, and so much more. Did I mention it smells delicious too? I’ve also found truffle salt, which makes for an even more scrumptious meal when used on grilled veggies. Promise me you will try truffle oil someday soon — it is a life, and palate, changing experience.

4. Blogilates

After you’ve had your fair share (or at least stuffed your face) with everything truffle and you need to detox after a Club W wine night with the girls, check out Cassey Ho challenges you to workouts, meal plans, recipes, and more on this fun and intriguing blog. The pilates videos are stimulating and they will make your muscles sore. That’s how you know you’re really workin’ up a sweat and getting good results.

5. GenTwenty‘s Twitter Chat

We love Twitter chats and finally started our own in mid-2015. We’d love for you to join us! Follow us on Twitter at @Gen_Twenty for info on upcoming chats.

No matter the trend, find something to get you going again this year.
