Knowing how to make money without working is slowly becoming a way of life for people in their twenties. At our age, we are struggling to build (or find) a career, yet at the same time, we are attempting to manage all of the expenses of adulthood. Extra cash is something we all look for, but you might not have time for a second job, or have minimal job security, or maybe you just want to splurge on a fun new gadget that is out of your usual budget. Whatever your reason is, there are plenty of creative ways to make money nowadays, both online and off.

  1. Rent out a room – If you currently live on your own, this is the perfect solution to cutting down your mortgage or rent payment every month. This option also allows you to split the chores with someone, which we all know isn’t a fun thing to do alone.

  1. Selling your belongings online – What a better way to start de-cluttering your place as well as making some extra cash.  Do you have any clothes you’ve barely worn? Books you haven’t read? Or even paintings you don’t like?  These days, anything and everything can be sold online and sites like Ebay and Kijiji are a quick and easy way to make money on those things you want to get rid of.

  1. Sell your photos – This has been an increasing popular idea as of late. If you have some skill in photography, sign up for and sell your photos for others to use.  If photography is your passion, why not be rewarded for your skill?

  1. Advertise on your blog – If you own a blog or website, why not put a few advertisements on your site to make some extra dough. You’d be surprised how quickly the traffic on your site can turn into dollar signs.

  1. Donate plasma – Depending on where you live, you can get up to $30 per session plus a free cookie at the end. Nothing is a bad idea when cookies are involved.

  1. Participate in research studies – Lots of universities will pay individuals to participate in a study of some kind. Some of them can even be quite fun depending on what you sign up for.

  1. Become a secret shopper – You get paid to evaluate stores and customer service at various businesses.  This is a great option if you have a love for shopping and exploring new stores.

  1. Sell your hobbies – Do you like to knit or make jewelry in your down time? Why not turn that into cash for yourself. We bet there are tons of people in your life that would love to get their hands on your creations. Just take the leap and get them out there! Etsy is a great place to start.

No matter what you decide to do, it’s always such an amazing feeling to know you are making extra income without stressing over another job. The opportunities are endless these days and who knows what many of these little side incomes can turn into. It can be a gateway into turning a passion of yours into a way of life. Seems like it doesn’t get any better than that!
