3 Ways To Treat Yourself Extra Special This Week

The best time to treat yourself isn't when life gets hectic, it's every single day. Here are 3 ways I show myself love daily. #SweetMeetsSpicy #IC #ad #ChaiLatte #KCup

I used to feel like whenever I was down or stressed, that was the time to really treat myself to some extra relaxation. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that treating yourself to the simple things in life on a daily or weekly basis can make a huge difference in your stress levels, your attitude, and happiness every single day.

Some weeks are harder than others, but here at GenTwenty, we think it’s essential to take care of yourself first. That means doing things daily, weekly, and monthly that help you unwind, relax, and connect with yourself.

Here are three sweet and simple ways you can show yourself a little more love this week:

1. Pick up some fresh flowers for your space.

Fresh flowers always feel like such a treat, am I right? Not only are they beautiful but they add such vibrant color and life to your home.

Flowers can last 1-2 weeks if you take care of them and change the water. Choose a bunch of flowers that haven’t quite bloomed yet–they’ll last longer once you get them home. If you buy in-season flowers and shop a sale, you’ll find that fresh flowers are affordable.

I suggest keeping them in a place that you can see from nearly everywhere in your home. Maybe that’s in your bedroom, your dining room or living room. Keep them visible so you can see them so that they can put a smile on your face.

If you purchase a large bunch, you can even split it up into smaller vases and place them in other places throughout your home!

2.  Cuddle up with a Chai Latte.

Is there anything cozier than a Chai Latte? If you’re not familiar with chai, it’s a black tea blend from India that dates back 5,000 years. The extravagant sweet and spicy flavor combination from the black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla takes you on a delicious adventure as you sip it. (Plus brewing it makes your home smell wonderful, too).

The TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® Pods make it so incredibly easy to treat yourself to a Chai Latte. Simply pour the Step 1 dairy blend into your mug, brew the Step 2 TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® Pods into the same mug, stir well, and you’re good to go! It couldn’t get any easier.

TAZO® K-Cup®

For the release of their new TAZO® Chai Latte K-Cup® Pods, TAZO® has partnered with Padma Lakshmi. Because tea and chai have been influential in Padma’s life and family, she created recipes that perfectly complement a Chai Latte (how simple and amazing do those cinnamon tea cookies look?). 3. Take the time to journal.

As you sip your Chai Latte, take the time to write down a few thoughts everyday. Writing, whether it’s a free write, a diary, a piece of fiction or just a simple list, is so good for the mind and soul.

It can help you clear out your thoughts, gain a new perspective on a stressful situation, or help you realize your dreams and desires.

Here are a few journaling prompts to start with:

  • How are you feeling today?
  • What was the best thing that happened to you today?
  • If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
  • What are three things you are grateful for in the moment?
  • What are three goals you hope to accomplish in the next six months?
  • What problems are you working through?

When I take the time to journal, I always notice that my mind is a lot clearer and I’m more relaxed. I think it gives me perspective and patience to write my way through trying times.

Try starting every morning with a list of things you’re grateful for. It will help you start your day with a positive mindset.

Treating yourself to a little extra self-love this week doesn’t have to be over the top. A few fresh flowers, curling up with a Chai Latte and your favorite blanket while journaling your heart out will make all the difference.
